Prime Minister Vishwakarma Scheme training program launched in Morigaon district

To provide skill development and training facilities to artisans and other craftsmen, introduce them to advanced and modern tools, provide free goods, provide low interest loans, incentive assistance for digital transactions and promote their products And the central government has launched a training program in Morigaon district under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Scheme aimed at providing markets. The first phase of the five-day training in masonry for 28 persons was inaugurated at the Zila Panchayat Resource Center at Bhurbandha Development  block office premises today. The training program was inaugurated by Morigaon District Commissioner Devashish Sharma. Speaking at the function, he said that under the scheme, which is named after Lord Vishwakarma, every craftsman and other craftsman has been called Vishwakarma. He said it was a matter of pride for these individuals to receive such recognition and proper training for the first time and to be included as entrepreneurs. After the training, he urged everyone to use their brains along with technical knowledge. He added that people should dream while they are awake. He urged the people to acquire all the knowledge during these five days and fight for their lives and to spread proper preaching for the benefit of 10 other people. The scheme will help the artisans and other craftsmen in different areas to move forward by enhancing their skills. He said about 24,000 people have applied for it in the district so far and 5,177 applications have been sanctioned at district level.

 Under the scheme, beneficiaries will be registered as Vishwakarma after three stages of examination and will receive PM Vishwakarma Digital ID, Digital Certificate and PM Vishwakarma ID Card. Under this scheme, training will be provided in a total of 18 trades. Additional District Commissioner Pranjal Barua, Assistant Director of District Industry and Commerce Center Arup Kumar Deka, trainer Balendra Kalita and trainees were present at the meeting.

Under this scheme, 40 hours of basic training and 15 days or 120 hours of advanced skills training will be provided for 5 to 7 days. Rs. 500 per day will be paid to the trainees in their bank accounts after completion of the training for all the days of the training. Grants of up to Rs. 15,000 will be provided as an incentive for improved equipment at the beginning of basic training. Loans of Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh will be disbursed to the designated beneficiaries at 5 per cent interest rate. Beneficiaries will receive an incentive of up to Rs 100 per month for each digital transaction. In addition, the beneficiaries will be provided with branding and promotion of their products, e-commerce and appropriate market facilities, export facilities, trade fairs, exhibitions etc. under this scheme.
