Assam Cultural Mahasangram District Level Competition starts in Morigaon

The Assam Cultural Mahasangram 2023-24 district level competition was held at Samannya Hall, Morigaon District Commissioner's office premises today. The three-day cultural competition included Jyoti Sangeet and Rabindra Sangeet competitions today. The event was inaugurated by  Morigaon District Commissioner Devashish Sharma. The programme began with a lantern lighting and floral trinute in front of the portrait of Jyoti Prasad Agrawal. In his inaugural address, the Morigaon District Commissioner first paid tribute to Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agrawal who was an artist who broke his knot and made the first film of Assam 'Jaymati' and engaged in artistic pursuits. "It's more important what we do or how much we do for the community than how much we earn for ourselves," he said. He congratulated the contestants and hoped that they would bring better results at the state level and bring reputation to Morigaon district. The Chief Minister's goodwill gift packets  to the journalists of Morigaon district recognized by the Directorate of Public Relations of the Government of Assam  were handed over to 23 journalists in the function.
