Jonbeel Mela Concludes in Assam: A Blend of Tradition and Future Prospects

The historic Jonbeel Mela of central Assam  formally  concluded today. The JonbeelMela was held on the banks of Joneel in Morigaon district for  last three days .After the 2nd Rajdarbar of Gobha King Deep Sing Deoraja , the fair was announced to end. In the Rajdarbar,the Gobha King Deep Sing collected tax from his officers in a token way. The Jonbeel Mela organising Committee today adopted a resolution requesting the Government of Assam to expedite the work of the proposed Jonbeel Mela Tourist Center and Museum project of Assam government.The hills people returning from Mela will now celebrate Magh Bihu(the harvesting festival) on Sunday at their villages
