Guwahati: A woman and her husband went to Panbazar Police Station in Guwahati, saying they were attacked by students from Cotton University's MNDP Boys’ Hostel. The police have started looking into it. The couple said that the students who attacked them were drunk. They first saw the students hitting another man. When the woman tried to stop them, they started attacking her and her husband too.
After they reported this, the police came quickly and took the woman for a medical check-up. The case is now registered at Panbazar Police Station under sections of the IPC (Indian Penal Code). The hostel authorities at Cotton University said their students were not involved. They think the attackers might be from outside because their students follow the hostel rules.
