World Soil Day Celebrated in Morigaon with Tree Planting and Awareness Rally by Nature Loving Forum

Today is World Soil Day. World Soil Day is celebrated annually on December 5 to focus attention on the importance of healthy soils and advocate for sustainable soil management around the world. Soil salinization and hydration is a process of soil degradation that threatens the ecosystem Therefore, the theme of “ Soil and water: a source of life ” is being used to raise awareness and awareness among the world’s people this year by many government and non-governmental organizations.
In Morigaon district ,the World Soil Day was observed at Madhya Gonamara LP School by the Nature Loving Forum,Assam.

The programme included planting of trees in the school premises, cleanliness campaign and awareness rally. An awareness meeting was also held to make children aware of soil health from childhood .The meeting was conducted by Head Master of Madhya Gonamara Primary School Babuli Kalita. The main speakers were Deepa Gogoi, Science Teacher of Azarbari Higher Secondary School, Hitesh Sharma, President of Prakritipremi Manch and Partha Pratim Gautam, Resource Person of Morigaon Nehru Youth Centre .The event was hosted by Iren Deka, Assistant General Secretary, Nature Lovers Forum.
