OpenAI nothing without its people' says Mira Murati after the board decides to fire Sam Altman, Greg Brockman

OpenAI, a prominent artificial intelligence organization, recently faced a major shakeup when its board decided to remove former CEO Sam Altman and co-founder Greg Brockman from their positions. This decision, despite support from investors like Microsoft, has sparked backlash from present OpenAI employees.

Mira Murati, the former OpenAI CTO, was appointed as the interim CEO after Altman's removal. Altman had previously posted, "OpenAI is nothing without its people," to which Murati responded with a heart emoji. However, Murati was later replaced by Emmett Shear as the interim CEO.

Several of Murati's colleagues at OpenAI, including Brad Lightcap (COO), Jason Kwoon (Chief Strategy Officer), Diane Yoon (VP of People), Sandhini Agarwal (AI Policy), Olivier Godement (Product), and more, have also expressed their support for Altman and criticized the decision to remove him.

Altman and Brockman are now set to lead a new advanced AI research team at Microsoft, with Microsoft's CEO expressing excitement about this development. Altman and Brockman have both indicated their intent to build something new in their future endeavors.

Altman had been serving as OpenAI's CEO since 2019, and his removal was reportedly due to concerns about his communication with the board. OpenAI cited issues with transparency and behavior as reasons for his dismissal.

This move has generated significant attention and discussions within the AI and tech communities, as OpenAI plays a crucial role in the development of artificial intelligence technologies.
