Assam Promotes Jailors to Superintendents at Correctional Facilities

In a recent order issued by the Home & Political Department of Assam, 21 Jailors have been promoted temporarily and allowed to officiate as Superintendents of Jail. These promotions are effective from the date they take over their respective posts and place them in the Scale of Pay Rs.30,000 to 1,10,000 (Pay Band-4), with Grade Pay Rs.12,700, in addition to other applicable allowances. The individuals promoted will hold these positions until further notice.

Here is the list of the promoted Jailors and their respective new postings:

  1. Shri Manas Das - Central Jail, Hamren
  2. Shri Rabiram Ingti - District Jail, Kokrajhar
  3. Shri Tarun Chandra Sonowal - District Jail, Tinisukia
  4. Shri Kalyan Choudhury - District Jail, Mangaldoi
  5. Shri Jogendra Nath - District Jail, Goalpara
  6. Shri Babul Kr. Hajong - District Jail, Diphu
  7. Shri Mukul Bhuyan - District Jail, Sonari
  8. Shri Tapash Bhuyan - Central Jail, Nagaon
  9. Shri Ranjan Choudhury - District Jail, Morigaon
  10. Shri Parbez Rahman - District Jail, Sivasagar
  11. Shri Ranjan Kr. Choudhury - District Jail, Nalbari
  12. Shri David Patgiri - District Jail, Abhayapuri
  13. Shri Nipen Das - Central Jail, Dibrugarh
  14. Shri Raju Kumar Choudhury - M. N. Open Air Jail, Jorhat
  15. Shri Manoj Khaklary - District Jail, Udalguri
  16. Shri Santosh Goswami - District Jail, Hailakandi
  17. Shri Pranjal Kumar Sarma - District Jail, Barpeta
  18. Shri Jyoti Prasad Deka - District Jail, Biswanath Chariali
  19. Shri Firdus Rahman - District Jail, Majuli
  20. Shri Prasanta Rajbongshi - District Jail, Dhubri
  21. Shri Prabin Tamuli - District Jail, Lakhimpur

These promotions are made in accordance with Rule 12(c) of the Assam Jail Service Rules, 1986. The individuals will serve as Superintendents of Jail and assume their new roles promptly.
