Illegal Encroachers Evicted from Moirabari Hospital Grounds in Morigaon District

Morigaon, Nov. 14: The Morigaon district administration today carried on eviction drive at Moirabari hospital grounds and evicted five families who illegally encroached on government land.The government funds were allocated for the construction of the boundary wall of the Moirabari health center six months ago. However, the encroachers obstructed the construction of the boundary wall. After nearly four months, the encroachers are not allowing the boundary wall to be built. Finally, the panchayat president complained to the Morigaon District Commissioner, who gave the encroachers 15 days. The 15-day occupiers did not remove their houses and gardens. The district administration was forced to evict them today. The victims were identified as five families who had illegally settled on the five bighas of land in the name of the Langribari Health and Welfare Centre of the district administration. There were no untoward incidents during the operation. The people fully supported the eviction operation.
