Assam Day Celebrations on November 22 at IITF 2023 in Delhi

Guwahati: Assam's Day was celebrated at the 42nd India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023, taking place at Pragati Maidan. Bimal Borah, the Minister for Industries, Commerce, Public Enterprises, and Cultural Affairs Departments, graced the event as the chief guest. The celebration featured a variety of programs to showcase Assam's rich cultural heritage and diversity at Amphitheatre 1, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

The event included cultural performances such as Satriya dance, Jhumur dance, Hajong, Bihu dance, and music shows by renowned artists Bhrigu Kashyap and Ridip Rankit, highlighting Assam's artistic traditions.

The Assam Pavilion at the trade fair, inaugurated by Dr. Ravi Kota, the Additional Chief Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Government of Assam, on November 14, showcased various government initiatives, including 'One District, One Product' GI products like Assam lemon, Gamusa, Muga silk, and traditional Assamese attire. It also promoted programs like Ease of Doing Business and Assam Start-Up.

The Assam Pavilion featured the participation of five government departments and PSUs (DIPR, Tourism, NEDFi, AIDC Ltd., AGMC), 32 MSME units, and two start-ups. Shantanu Deori, the Joint Director of the Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce, Government of Assam, served as the Pavilion Director.

This year's theme of IITF is 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: United by Trade,' and the fair will run until November 27.
