Guwahati Police Arrest Two Women Drug Peddlers

In Guwahati, a special police team caught two women near the Khanapara bus stand for having illegal drugs. The team, called the Special Task Force (STF), did this based on a tip. This happened in the area looked after by the Dispur Police Station.

The police found 43 small bottles with a drug thought to be heroin. They weighed about 54.5 grams. Also, the police got Rs. 5,680 in cash and a mobile phone from them. The women who were caught are Sunita Basumatary, 19 years old, known as Angel, from Basistha area, and Pranita Das, 45 years old. Pranita lives in Deba Nagar near Khanapara but originally comes from Patbaochi.

This arrest is part of the police's efforts to stop illegal drugs in the city. Both women are known to have been involved in selling drugs before. The police are now looking more into this matter. They want to discover more about  the drug selling in the area. The people in Guwahati are being told about the dangers of illegal drugs and how the police are working hard to keep the city safe.
