In Guwahati, the Chief Minister, Mr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, has given a special order. This order is for the Personnel Department. They have been told to start departmental proceedings. This is for 34 officers. These officers are from the ACS and other similar groups. They got their jobs after passing the CCE-2013 exam. The Personnel Department has another job too. They need to find out exactly what each of these 34 officers did wrong. This information is in a report. The report was made by Justice (retd) Biplab Kumar Sharma. After finding out the wrong things, the Personnel Department will tell the specific departments of these officers.
The Personnel Department got a note. This note was from the Chief Minister. It had the names of the 34 officers. This happened on Thursday. Now, the Personnel Department is trying to figure out which departments these 34 officers are in. They will then start the departmental proceedings. But, they will only do this for the ACS officers. For the other officers, their own departments will handle it. For example, if an officer is from the Assam Police Service (APS), then the Home Department will take care of the departmental proceeding.
The Personnel Department says that these officers won’t get any promotions during this time. This is because of the departmental proceedings against them. Now, each of the 34 officers will have an inquiry officer. This inquiry officer will look into the charges. These charges come from the inquiry commission’s report. The first thing in these proceedings is to send show-cause notices. These notices will be sent by the departments of these 34 officers.
