77,000 houses completed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen in Morigaon district

A press conference was held at the office of the District Rural Development Authority of Morigaon today to discuss the success and progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen  PMAY(G)Scheme in Morigaon district since its launch. The scheme is being implemented in Morigaon district since 2016 and the targets set for the district at present. Lahki Nandan Chaharia CEO,Morigaon Zila Parishad said in the Press Conference that the scheme is being implemented in Morigaon district since 2016 and the targets set for the district at present. He said a total of 98,393 houses have been allocated in Morigaon district since the beginning. By May 10, 2021, 15,400 houses were completed in the district while a total of 77,473 houses were constructed by December 5, This means that a total of 62,073 houses were completed from May 10, 2021 to December 5, The remaining 20,920 houses are targeted to be completed by December this year. There are 37 houses in Batdwara Development Zone, 3570 houses in Bhurbandha Development Zone, 572 houses in Dalanghat, 1655 houses in Kapili, 5341 houses in Laharighat, 8812 houses in Mayang and 933 houses in Moirabari Development Zone. He said the construction of 20,000 houses in such a short period of time is challenging but every effort will be made to achieve the target by going from house to house and field visits and creating awareness,the CEO ,Morigaon Zila Parishad said .He also urged the people to inform the authorities if they see any middlemen or irregularities in the allocation or construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen. He added that if anyone deliberately does not complete the construction of houses, proper action will be taken against such beneficiaries. Several journalists appealed to him to ensure that no eligible beneficiaries are deprived.
