2nd Day of AASU's 18th State Conference in Morigaon: Cultural Rally and Advocacy for Indigenous Rights

November 22 - The second day of the 18th state conference of the All Assam Students Union (AASU) commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony at Lakhminath Bezboruah Khetra. Utpal Sarma, the Incharge President of AASU, raised the flag and addressed the gathering. Sarma emphasized that AASU, being the largest non-political student organization, has consistently advocated for constitutional protections for the indigenous people of Assam.

Following the flag hoisting, a solemn Swahid Tarpan ceremony was conducted by Sankar Jyoti Boruah, the General Secretary of AASU, in remembrance of the martyrs.

A highlight of the day was the grand cultural rally, which witnessed the enthusiastic participation of thousands of people from diverse communities. Dr. Sammujjal Kumar Bhattacharya, Chief Adviser of AASU, inaugurated the rally. During a media interaction, Dr. Bhattacharya reiterated the importance of constitutional safeguards for the indigenous ethnic groups and Assam's heritage.

The AASU conference in Morigaon continues to be a platform for discussions on critical issues and the preservation of indigenous rights.
