Water bird census in Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary was carried out this year yesterday.As many as 45 professors,research scholars, local birders and forest staff took part in the exercise.The waterbodies of the sanctuary were divided into seven blocks this year and total of 7225 birds and 72 species were found during the exercise. Comparatively, this year bird count is less but species found is more in Pobitora WL Sanctuary.
Dr. Prasanta Kumar Saikia, Dr. Malabika kakati Saikia took part in the exercise along with their student, researchers.
