Stalker Arrested for Acid Attack on 17-Year-Old Girl in Assam, Barpeta

In Barpeta, Assam, a 17-year-old girl was subjected to an acid attack by a man who had been pursuing her, according to Assam Police. Currently, the girl is undergoing treatment in a hospital. The incident occurred three days ago when the man confronted the girl and her sister as they were leaving a local book fair. He threw acid at the girl and fled the scene.

Upon hearing the girl's screams, neighbors rushed her to a nearby hospital. Her condition is critical, and she was subsequently transferred to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. The assailant has been apprehended and is currently in custody, having confessed to the crime.
