Guwahati, on 13th of November, a series of unsettling discoveries have raised concerns about safety in the city, especially following the recent finding of a young woman's body in an apartment. This incident occurred in the Six Mile area, where the flat owner detected an unusual smell and alerted the Dispur Police. The deceased was identified as Anju Dorjee, a 25-year-old woman from Bokajan, Karbi Anglong district. She was reportedly in a live-in relationship with Mani Khan, who is currently missing. The police are investigating, and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Not long before this, another grim discovery was made in Chandmari, where a mutilated body was found in a drain near the Assam Engineering Institute. The victim, found in a sack with visible injuries, remains unidentified.
Additionally, the Uzanbazar area experienced a similar shock with the discovery of an unidentified man's body, estimated to be around 35 years old, on the banks of the Brahmaputra. Local residents alerted the Latasil police, and the body was sent for examination. The cause of death is pending investigation, and the police are working to identify the man.
These incidents have understandably caused concern among the residents of Guwahati, prompting questions about general safety and the need for increased vigilance in the community.
