Tinsukia district students shone brightly at the State level meet of the 31st National Children Science Congress (NCSC), which was held in Haflong from November 8 to 11. Students from 31 districts of Assam showcased 260 projects at this prestigious event.
Two outstanding projects from Tinsukia were particularly noteworthy. Pranshu Chetia and Simas Borah from Radhakrishnan Academy, Kakopothar, guided by David Hemrom, won the ‘Best Project Award’ and the Khagendranath Brahma Memorial Best State Child Scientist Award. Their success means they will now represent Assam at the national level NCSC meet.
Additionally, Bikita Chetia and Sarika Tabussam from Sarvajanin Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Tinsukia, guided by Rupa Phukan, also secured a place to represent Assam at the national meet, which will take place in Bengaluru in late December.
In total, 12 child scientists from Tinsukia district were selected for the State level meet. The successful students received congratulations from various individuals and organizations, including the inspector of schools, Tinsukia district circle officer Bitupon Hazarika, and Jiten Sharma, advisor to the NCSC State organizing committee.
