Pakistan's Recent Violations of Ceasefire Along the Line of Control and Firing Incidents on International Border Constitute Breach of Bilateral Agreements, Indian Ministry of External Affairs States

Pakistan has recently been breaking the peace agreement along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border, according to India's Ministry of External Affairs. There have been incidents where Pakistan fired across the border. Sadly, one of these incidents led to the death of a BSF head constable in the Ramgarh sector, located in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district.

Speaking about these issues, Arindam Bagchi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, mentioned that Pakistan's actions, which include firing and sometimes using drones, are against the peace agreements that both countries have agreed upon. India has been consistently bringing up these violations and discussing them with Pakistan to address the problem.

This was not a one-time event. In fact, in the past three weeks, there have been three instances where the Pakistan Rangers have violated the ceasefire on the international border. In an effort to calm the situation and reduce tension, the armies of India and Pakistan had made a promise on February 25, 2021. They agreed to stop firing across the LoC and reaffirmed their commitment to a ceasefire agreement that was originally made back in 2003
