The Assam Sports Journalists Association is deeply saddened by the untimely demise of our member and veteran journalist Chandan Sarma, who passed away following prolonged illness on 20th December 2023.
Chandan Sarma, an accomplished sports and cultural journalist, was an enthusiastic sportsperson and had represented Assam in the AC Bali All-India Inter-Media Table Tennis Championships on a couple of occasions.
Recalling his contributions to sports and cultural spheres of Assam, Assam Sports Journalists Association President Shri Subodh Malla Barua said his demise has created a void and is an irreparable loss for the journalist community of Assam.
The Assam Sports Journalists Association expresses deep condolences and prays for the eternal peace of the departed soul. We stand by the bereaved family at this difficult time and pray to the Almighty to give the family the strength to cope with the loss.
