December 13: After a massive operations conducted against cyber criminals in several villages under Moirabari and Lahorighat Police stations last night,Morigaon Police managed to arrest as many as 21 cyber criminals last night. A police party led by Sameeran Baishya ,Additional SP (Crime),Morogaon conducteda vigorous operation against the cyber criminals in those areas under Moirabari and Lahorighat and achieved success by tracking down those criminals. The police party arrested 21 cyber criminals and seized a large number of Aadhaar cards, SIM cards ,PAN cards, laptops and mobile phones which were used to withdraw loan amounts in the names of bonafide customers of different banks of Central Assam.The cyber criminals were doing this fraudulent business for last two years syphoning out crores of rupees from banks in other bonafide customers .In the process thousands of people of the state and even outside states were duped .The mega financial crimec ommitted by these cyber criminals made the several areas of Moirabari and Lahorighat as hub of cyber crime.However Police left no stone unturned to root out those cyber criminal centres of Morigaon district.
