Big Clean-Up at Mora Bharalu River in Guwahati Before Cricket Match

G Guwahati

Guwahati: A big clean-up happened at the Mora Bharalu river in Barsapara, Guwahati. The group Save Bharalu Abhiyan and the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) did this just before a T20 cricket match at the ACA stadium in Barsapara. Save Bharalu Abhiyan often does this to keep the city's rivers clean. They did something similar last week in Jatiya, asking people to throw garbage only in the dusbins.

Megh Nidhi Dahal from GMC joined the last clean-up and talked about the importance of throwing garbage properly. This time, Dr. Robin Majumder from Save Bharalu Abhiyan and Simanta Goswami, a junior engineer from GMC, were there too. They, along with GMC workers, tried to remove a lot of plastic from the river.

Save Bharalu Abhiyan also told people how important it is to throw garbage in the right place. They said that garbage isn't collected regularly from homes and shops, which makes people throw it on the streets. They asked for more dustbins in public places to solve this problem.
