Fake Doctor Arrested in Morigaon: Health Ministry Inquiry Demanded

Dalim Phukan, Morigaon, November 10: In a significant development, a fake doctor who had been working in the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) in Morigaon under the National Health Mission (NHM) was arrested by the police today. According to official sources, the individual identified as Samirul Hoque Mazumdar, who was appointed as a doctor in Morigaon NHM on November 1, was found to be using fake certificates.

This revelation was made public by Adhijit Neog, an honorary crusader against anomalies in medical practices, during a media briefing held in the evening. However, Dr. Phani Pathak, Joint Director of Health in Morigaon, stated that the individual had been engaged as an outsourcing doctor by a company and was working under NHM Morigaon.

On the other hand, the District Commissioner (DC) of Morigaon, Devashis Sarma, confirmed that the district administration had been investigating the credentials of the doctor for the past week and had found fake documents in his possession. As a result, he was arrested by the authorities.

This incident has sparked demands for an inquiry by the Health Ministry from local residents and concerned individuals in the area.
