Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ranjit Kumar Dass yesterday reviewed various schemes implemented under the P&RD department in Morigaon district and inspected two houses constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana ( Gramin) and an Amrit Sarovar  Scheme which is under construction in Mayong Development Block. The Minister first attended a review meeting at the Mayang Development Block office in the district. He took a detailed look at the progress and work of programmes under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), 15th Finance Commission, MGNREGA, Amrit Sarovar and Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission. He directed to complete the construction of the still unfinished houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) within a month.  The Minister also directed to expedite the work of various schemes under the department. The minister also directed to undertake more schools repair works under the 15th Finance Commission to ensure that the students do not face any difficulties in learning. He also suggested the use of similar colours when implementing such works.  The review meeting was attended by  Morigaon District Commissioner Devashish Sharma, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar) Hriday Kumar Das, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Laxminandan Chaharia, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Moinuddin Ahmed, Mayang Anchalik Panchayat President Kabita Das . After the meeting, he inspected two completed houses and an Amrit Sarovar under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). The  Minister again attended an another review meeting in Bhurbandha development  block of the district and discussed the progress of various schemes implemented by the department in that development block .The meeting was attended by Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deori, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad, Development Block Officer Rahul Deka, Gaon Panchayat Presidents, Secretaries and concerned officers and employees.
