Assam Cultural Mahasangram: Vibrant Cultural Event on Floating Stage at Charon Beel, Morigaon District

A cultural event called the "Assam Cultural Mahasangram" took place on the floating stage at the historic Charon Beel in Morigaon district. Contestants performed on a temporary floating stage set up on the waters of Charon Beel, with various types of drums present on the floating stage. Dancers performed in the water with their waists submerged, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sangeeta Barthakur, Additional District Commissioner of Morigaon. District Commissioner Devashish Sharma also participated in the event, singing Bihu songs and encouraging the participants. The songs were accompanied by drummers and Bihu dancers, creating a festive atmosphere on the banks of Charon Beel. The natural beauty and greenery of Charon Beel added to the charm of the event.

The Morigaon district administration has been actively promoting cultural talents at the grassroots level by organizing various programs to create awareness among the people. The competition included solo categories such as Jyoti Sangeet, Bishnu Rava Geet, Bhupendra Sangeet, Rabindra Sangeet, and Bihu dance, as well as group categories like folk dance. Prizes ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh were awarded to the winners, and the competition will continue until November 29 in various locations within Morigaon district, followed by constituency, district, and state-level competitions. Interested contestants could also register on the spot.
