More than 300 former AASU(All Assam Students Union ) leaders and cadres are likely to join BJP

The decision was taken after the recent AASU s 18th  conference held at Morigaon.

Former AASU leader Divya Jyoti Medhi recently met the Chief Minister, Dr.Himanta Biswa Sarma and formulated the modalities in this regard .
'I think I should come into active politics to fulfill the aspirations of the people,' said former AASU organising Secretary Dibya Jyoti Medhi . He further said 'I think members should leave the floor of the AASU after a certain age.'

There are talks with the Chief Minister and I along with hundreds of AASU activists will  join BJP.  added Medhi.
Medhi alleged that there is no democracy in AASU. No real students  can stay at AASU now

Some of the students leaders stayed as advisors in the AASU,Medhi added.
