On Tuesday, October 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India's first Home Minister, by offering floral tributes at the Statue of Unity located in Gujarat. This day, marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel, is celebrated across the nation as National Unity Day.

In a grand function held at Kevadia in the Narmada district, Prime Minister Modi led the crowd in taking the oath of unity. The event was further magnified with the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) parade, which showcased the marching prowess of the Border Security Force and the state's own police force.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address the assembled crowd and announce the initiation of several development projects valued at Rs 160 crore. Notably, the Statue of Unity, a towering monument dedicated to Sardar Patel, stands as the world's tallest statue, reaching a height of 182 metres.

This magnificent statue was inaugurated by PM Modi himself on the same date, October 31, back in 2018.
