In a major crackdown on the illegal narcotics trade, a vigilant team from the Special Task Force (STF), led by the watchful eye of DIG STF Parthasarathi Mahanta, conducted a meticulously planned operation. On the 8th of November, they skillfully intercepted a vehicle with the registration AS 01 QC 9956. During a thorough search, the STF unit discovered a cleverly hidden compartment within the vehicle which was storing contraband substances.

Initial reports suggest that the Bolero pickup van originated from Manipur and was under surveillance following confidential tips. The additional SP (HQ), Kalyan Kumar Pathak, spearheaded the operation with precision.

Upon inspection, the authorities unearthed 36 opium packets, each weighing one kilogram, stashed away in the vehicle's ingeniously designed secret cavity. The swift action of the force led to the capture of four individuals involved in the drug peddling ring. The suspects, identified as Safiqul Ali, aged 39, Mamtul Ali, aged 31, Raju Ajli, aged 35, and Ainul Haque, aged 38, were apprehended on the spot.

Following their arrest, the quartet was promptly taken into police custody. The STF has initiated the appropriate legal proceedings against the accused at the STF police station, reflecting their steadfast commitment to eradicating such unlawful activities.
