District Commissioner Varnali Deka mentioned that Nalbari has a lot of sports talent. She believes Nalbari will do well in the state-level Khel Maharan-2023 games. She encouraged the players to win medals and make Nalbari proud. She used a quote from boxer Jack Morrison about overcoming obstacles to inspire the athletes.
On the first day, there were races of 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m for boys and girls. More than 600 athletes from 19 Gaon Panchayats and the Nalbari Municipal Board took part. The rest of the sports events will happen as planned.
